Hamsa

The Hamsa, also known as the Khamsa, the Humes hand, the Hand of Fatima and the Hand of Miriam, is a popular symbol found throughout the Middle East and northern Africa, particularly within the Islamic and Jewish faiths. From Ancient times, the symbol has been used as a form of protection to ward off the evil eye – a curse believed to be cast by a malevolent glare, usually given to a person when they are unaware.
